Local Talent Shines in Reston Bland Contest

Congratulations to Alexis Michelle Gruber(Dominion High School) and Antonia Isabella Stabile(Oakton High School) for taking 1st place vocal and instrumental respectively amid stiff competition at the Reston Bland Contest held on February 8th, 2011.  The Contest featured 14 contestants from area Elementary, Middle and High Schools.  Extraordinary performances were given by all and a heart-felt thank you goes out to all the teachers, family, judges, and contestants that participated.

Julia Picchiottino Wins Local Competition In 2010 Lions International Peace Poster Contest

(Herndon, VA) – Julia Picchiottino, a 7th grade student at Herndon Middle School, took a first step toward becoming an internationally recognized artist by winning a local competition sponsored by the Reston Lions Club.

2011 Bland Competition

The Reston Bland Contest will be held on Tuesday, February 8, 2011 at 7:30 pm in the Reston Community Center Theater at the Hunter Woods Shopping Center sponsored by the Reston Lions Club.  We would appreciate you considering this Contest for your talented students.

Eyeglass Recycling Volunteer Opportunity

Our club will be making a trip down to the Lions Eyeglass Recycling Center in 601 S. Carlin Springs Rd., Arlington, VA 22204.  7 pm to 8:30 pm on 12/29/2010 in lieu of our normal meeting.

Holiday Party 2010

The Reston Lions Club held our annual zone Holiday Party at the Hidden Creek Country Club on 12/15/2010.  Many were in attendance and fun was had by all.  The Reston Lions Club received several membership awards from the greater Lions organization.
